Bluetopia from Color Club. I found those sets of Color Club polishes from Ross, the $8 ones? I had to! This is from the Back to Boho set B. I don’t really have many of these darker colors in my collection, and I’m really feeling them for this season. This is a verrry dark blue, in dim lighting it definitely looks black. A good staple color though, in my opinion. It’s been a while since I wore this, but I believe it’s two coats; with one, it’s a bit more sheer and more of a true blue.
Wow, it’s been so long since I posted…I’ve been really busy with a new job, plus I was out of town over the weekend. Time flies!
This is Pretty Edgy from Essie, a gorgeous grassy green. Green really isn’t my favorite color, for nail polish or otherwise, but I was lusting after this one for some reason. It just looked kind of accessible, like a green that I could really wear and would look good with my skintone and everything. I’m really pleased that I finally bought it ♥
Essence Prism@tic White, from their new Holografics collection. This is my favorite one from it! It’s a nice opaque white in three coats (although you can see my nail line in the photos…I swear it wasn’t there in person!), with a lovely lavender-pearl shimmer in the sunlight. I love how it’s not “just white”, there’s something special to it; it feels very wearable to me.
I loved how my last rose mani came out, that I had to do it again! This time, I used China Glaze Something Sweet as the pink, and Essie Mint Candy Apple on my thumb & ring fingers. Same colors for the roses (China Glaze Something Sweet, Sugar High, Entourage; Zoya Apple), and Confetti Wedding White for the white stripes on my ring finger. How do you think it turned out? I really like it!
I’m also doing a wear test with this mani, one hand has CND Stickey as a base coat, and the other has Essie Fill the Gap. I just got Stickey and I want to see how it compares! I’ll update with the results.
I love how easy nail art roses are! I decided to try it out the other day and I was really pleased, even with my first try.
I used my Candy Shop franken for the rest of my nails (I know it doesn’t really look like Candy Shop, but it looks like how I wished it was, haha, soft pink and some glitter), and for the accent nail I used Essie Mint Candy Apple as the base, China Glaze Something Sweet & Sugar High for the roses, and China Glaze Entourage & Zoya Apple for the leaves.
I love polka dots! Especially pink ones!
The dots are: China Glaze Sugar High, Heli-Yum; Essie Knockout Pout, Sephora by OPI Arm Candy; American Apparel Coney Island. Layered over Confetti Wedding White. I set a click-through link to the blog that I got my inspiration from! You should check it out, her nails are so lovely.
Revlon Cotton Candy (layered over China Glaze Something Sweet), and an accent nail of Confetti White
You ever have those days where no matter what you do, your nails are just not doing it for you? This was the other day, I tried to do something cool with nail stickers, and it had so much potential, but turned out sooo badly. So I started over and just did this, somewhat simple, but it turned out kinda pretty.
OPI Guy Meets Gal-veston
I don’t usually buy OPI, I think that they’re over-priced and I hate their naming, to be honest, but I saw swatches of this one online and fell in love. I don’t know what started my jelly phase here, but I’m way into it. A coral-pink-kinda orange jelly? I’m in! Pretty sheer, this is three coats, but I really love the color.
Essie Movers & Shakers
My favorite color is pink, and I’ve been trying to get more. Which seems odd, but when I first started my collection of nail polish, I definitely had more pink than any other color. Now that I’ve been expanding my horizons, my ratio of pink to other has been shrinking. I feel out of all the variety I have, I should be getting some more pink variety in there, too! So I’ve started getting more pinks again. And this one is so beautiful. I’m really into jellies right now, and this is such a gorgeous medium - almost hot - pink jelly. Two coats, too! So it’s not toooo sheer. I really recommend it if you’re looking to get a pink jelly.
My boyfriend’s favorite color is orange, so he’s been persuading me to wear more orange nail polish…I’m still on the fence, to be honest! But this one was so pretty that I didn’t mind it, haha. It’s such a pretty orange with magenta flash in the sunlight. Gorgeous! And very pigmented, I almost didn’t need the second coat.
